books and legs. that's how I see Seattle today. everyone likes to go to a coffee shop to read. everyone seems to have time for that. for talking with friends or strangers. some work on their facebook, emails, essays... and then women like to wear short skirts and leggings or just tight jeans, so I see pretty legs aaaaall the time. and I enjoy it thank you very much.

now I get to the color section of Feli, Spring 2007, #10:

isn't this cool? I love it!

the internet: ether or real?

I was thinking about how real it is. If you don't have facebook, you existence fades in the mind of your network of friends. Or if you do and you have a cool page, your score within your network goes up.

It's like a second layer of skin. Like your clothes, the way you talk, the way you are with those surrounding you. It is quite real.

And it belongs to the youngest of us. Simply look at the webpages of people over 30, and compare them to those of those under, and you can see how the older bracket can't keep up with the young.

I was thinking about how real the images that appear in this blog are. After all, images are light beams coming into our brains through our eyes. The image is sharper, more vivid in real life, before it hits the film or digital sensor, yet, the vividness of the image can be as real in a good computer screen than in a silver halides prints. So, then, the internet is real. As real as our thoughts.

When we pull the cord, and the internet is gone, so is all within it. It ceases to exist. And then it is ethereal. So are our thoughts when we die. Prints, instead, last a little longer, even when we pull the plug. And ideas, feelings? Do they survive when we share them with others? Like in a piece of theater, a dance choreography, a novel, even as the pitagoras theorem? I think they do. At least for a little longer, if we think of time at the scale of the age of the universe!

So, now, going back to images, here's Feli in the Spring of 2007 # 9.

These are just simple shots of a pretty back:

Feli, Spring, 2007
#8

This whole photoshoot session took place in their apartment, in Fenway. It was a sunny day, perfect for us. We didn't have enough light for some film, so we used a few of the lamps of the living rooms to make things a bit better. Yet some photos came out a bit underexposed and that's why some photos are grainy.

They had a beautiful set up in their apartment.

Hope you enjoy these.

#4

I'm doing the coffee shop thing. Coming here to post stuff on the web. I have no Internet at home. It's the way we get to see other humans in this day and age when we many households are 1 person large. Apparently the average size of households downtown Copenhagen is 1.8, and 50% are 1 person only...

These are the last of the first set of B&W photos (#2, 3 and 4). They capture her big eyes. The sets that follow (> #4) get glimpses of her character, her movements and expressions, in addition to her big pretty eyes.
