Rebels
Zapatour 2000, Tepoz, Mexico
I was thinking about Libya. It reminds me of what happened in the early 16th century around Tenochtitlan, the capital of the Aztec empire. Then, the Spaniards convinced neighboring indigenous city states to help them take down the Aztecs, who ruled the region. The Aztecs were defeated. And then the Spaniards took over the region. They mined gold and silver and shipped it to Europe. They justified their actions under the shield of spreading the gospel to native americans. Today I feel Europe is doing the same thing in Libya. They are using tribal divisions to take down the Libyan regime. They are using institutions like the UN and the ICJ to claim legitimacy to their actions. They have interests in the black gold of the region. Does this matter? I don't know. Probably not.
These are my 35 mm film photographs taken with a Pentax SP F, and a few daily reflections or feelings I wish to publish.

Time to work!
The last photographs of Sally were the last I plan to take in a while. I love taking photos, but I just need to focus my energy on other projects at the moment. I love living in Seattle, and I want to stay here. For that I need a formal job. Right now my job is just temporal and is not really paying the bills.
But I will keep posting a few photographs.
Dancing to the beat of music is something I plan to keep though... professional dancers of the world, I am jealous of you. I know it's a tough world out there. But it's so cool to dance! Congratulations to Julia for her show tonight.
Tonight posts are of my friend Matea, in Province Town in the summer of 2009.
